Movie Night

The Brave one with Jodie Foster.

Jodie is a very intense actress! Those piercing blue eyes are a big draw.

Mary Steenburgen was in this also I kept trying to place where I had seen her before. Once again my memories escape me!

The whole movie I kept thinking about the dog!

I learned a new word today.

Or rather a definition to a word. Do you know the noise you make when you are startled, or forget something? That sharp intake of breath?

I never knew that that had a name! It is a Gasp!

Gamers; this is cool (Thanks Scott).
What kind of D&D character would you be?
Warning this survey is Hella long.

My results:
I Am A: True Neutral Human Ranger (6th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-11

Dexterity-13

Constitution-11

Intelligence-12

Wisdom-14

Charisma-12

Alignment:
True Neutral A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.

This song rocks

& Then I saw the video:) The guitar is the prettiest I've ever seen!
Warning: Video a tad ris-kay.
Rocco Deluca & The Burden-Colorful

live like your last day

drink like its water

theres no tommorow

And you think no one can hear you

Raise your hands to be called on

you know all the answers

You're the most colourful thing that i've seen

You're the most colourful thing that i've seen

You're the most colourful thing that i've seen

You dance like no-one's watching

Sing 'til the song ends

then you sing some more

And we can hardly believe it

words that flow from your mouth,

Drink like its water

You are an enigma walking

make no excuses for the way that you carry on

and we can hardly believe it

words that flow from your mouth

Drink like its water girl

Drink like its water girl

Chompers Easter egg

Some Crazy Easter Dog!

& the song for today:)

Split Enz - Six Months In A Leaky Boat

When I was a young boy,
I wanted to sail round the world,
That's the life for me,
Living on the sea.
Spirit of a sailor,
Circumnavigates the globe,
The lust of a pioneer,
Will acknowledge no frontier.

I remember you by
Thunder clap in the sky,
Lightning flash, tempers flare,
Round the Horn if you dare.

I just spent 6 months in a leaky boat,
Lucky just to keep afloat.

Ay-o-ay, ay-o-ay, ay-o-ay.

Aotearoa, rugged individual,
Glisten like a pearl,
At the bottom of the world.
The tyranny of distance,
Didn't stop the cavalier,
So why should it stop me,
I'll conquer and stay free.

Ah, c'mon all you lads,
Let's forget and forgive,
There's a world to explore,
Tales to tell back on shore.

I just spent 6 months in a leaky boat,
6 months in a leaky boat.

Ay-o-ay, ay-o-ay, ay-o-ay.

This morning the Moon was huge & movingly beautiful.
(I had a bunny run out in front of me, I missed him!)(Peter Cotton tail?)
The whole day was enveloped in the sweet spring like sunshine, giving everything a magic like quality.

Happy Spring! (Snow storm & all.) (Yes there is a snow storm coming.)

I do not qualify.

As many of you know I put my application in to adopt a PuppyMill survivor.
I thought Zoie needs a friend. I don't really want to go through puppiness again. OMG I never knew that there were so many dogs in need of love out there. Even Yorkies!
So, in my search of a non-shedding small dog (not really thinking of what a PuppyMill Survivor dog would be (behave) like.) I fell in love with Shadow.
After several e-mails & pictures of my yard & of course the crazy long application. They said that absolutely no PuppyMill dogs go to unfenced yards. These rescue dogs are prone to bolting & are usually uncatchable.
This just means that it was not meant to be at this moment. We do & have needed to finish fencing the yard off. Zoie loves to run. she's not great at always coming when I call her either.
In the interim I'm going to do more research on these rescue dogs. I was in no way prepared for how difficult it might be to acclimate one to real family life.
The web site just makes you want to help:)

From Communion with God.

By Neale Donald Walsh through Change your Thought's Change your Life.

Which snowflake is the most magnificent? Is it possible that they are all magnificent-& that, celebrating their magnificence together they create an awesome display? Then they melt into each other, & into Oneness. Yet they never go away. They never disappear. They never cease to be, Simply, they change form. And not just once, but several times: from solid to liquid, from liquid to vapor, from the seen to the unseen, to rise again, & then again to return in new displays of breath taking beauty& wonder. This is life, nourishing Life.

I finished this book, it took my a while to absorb. It was a very deep thinking book. I have a hard time with some of it but embrace most of it. I know it has changed my attitude:)

Take time

New Song:)
Colbie Caillat Realize

Take time to realize
That your warmth is
Crashing down on in
Take time to realize
That I am on your side
didn't I, didn't I tell you
But I can't spell it out for you
No it's never gonna be that simple
No I can't spell it out for you

If you just realize
What I just realized
That we'd be perfect for each other
And we'll never find another
Just realize
What I just realized
We'd never have to wonder
If we missed out on each other, now

Take time to realize
Oh oh, I'm on your side
Didn't I, didn't I tell you
Take time to realize
This could all pass you by
Didn't I tell you
But I can't spell it out for you
No it's never gonna be that simple
No I can't spell it out for you

If you just realize
What I just realized
That we'd be perfect for each other
And we'll never find another
Just realize
What I just realized
It's not the same
No it's never the same
If you don't feel it too
If you meet me half way
If you would meet me half way
It could be the same for you

The Comcast story continued….

The Comcast technician was to be here today between 5-7 pm. I knew I had plenty of time so I took Zoie for a walk. We were playing at aunt Donna’s when I saw a Comcast van go by, it was only 4:30. So Zoie & I jogged/ran home. (It was good exerciseJ)

We met the Comcast guy & proceeded to check into my issue. (BTW, I’ve been having ungodly good speeds today, doing speed tests, I’m still having Netflix streaming movie issues though.)

The Comcast Tech. explained to me that they have been having server issues. That even though my speeds show very fast today, they are still experiencing some packet loss issues. So that was it & all that he could do.

Now, Would it not have been easier for the Person I talked to on the phone, when I reported my problem, to say yes Miss they are having server issues in your area, they are working on them. If you are still having internet speed problems in a week & a half please give us a call back? Instead of telling me my router was bad.

If she did not know this information…..Well then the phone tech’s. need to be able to get problem service area’s.

The Comcast technician also told me the new estimated sate of arrival of my High Definition service. He actually explained to me the reasons for the hold up at this time & what Comcast was doing.

An hour after he left my internet service went down completely, LOL! At least now I know that they are working on it. When I called to report it, the automated phone message told me soJ

The moral of this story is: A customer who is treated as knowledgeable & is told the real reasons behind service interruptions. Who know that they are being taken care of. That is a happy customer!

Oh & a discount or rate cut for the interrupted service & for the trouble would be a nice gesture also. *wink*

Poignant paragraph....

In the book I'm reading. Change your thoughts change your life.
Reflect upon how the gentle water compares to the solid stone & marble it's capable of carving through. The soft water overrides hardness-deep valleys surrounded by mountains of granite have been carved away over the centuries by the patient, quiet, moving liquid. Imagine being able to enter where no space appears to be available, & to move slowly, speaking seldom & allowing yourself to be harmoniously intact as you seek a lower, less noisy & noticeable place.......a place where all others desire to come to you. This is the watercourse way.
It also speaks of control or rather giving up complete control. Take your heart for example. It beats without any interference from you, no conscious thought goes into it's being & working. Trying to control your heartbeat would be a futile effort. Just be!

Deep poem

Woman with Flower by Naomi Long Madgett.
I wouldn't coax the plant if I were you.
Such watchful nurturing may do it harm.
Let the soil rest from so much digging
And wait until it's dry before you water it.
The leaf's inclined to find its own direction;
Give it a chance to seek the sunlight for itself.

Much growth is stunted by too careful prodding,
Too eager tenderness.
The things we love we have to learn to leave alone.

Why is Comcast so......

Why do they make me so angry?
I've been having trouble with my internet speed. I've also have had trouble with lost signal on my TV.
The trouble's I'm having is mostly noticeable on Netflix streaming movies. If it was not for Netflix I'd never have known that I'm paying all this money for a service not working correctly.
I've been putting off calling Comcast because I know how past experiences have been. I started e-mailing them with what the issue was. They e-mailed me back with tests to run. None of the tests worked. So they told me to call them.
I called Netflix first instead. I spent 2 hours on the phone with this wonderful techy guy. We tried all kinds of tests. In the end he did a pathping test which showed one of Comcasts servers losing packets. This all being done hooked directly to the modem mind you. The netflix guy & I determined that the problem is on Comcasts end.
I fianlly called Comcast today. Firstly the number my E ticket gave me to call was the wrong number for my area. Second the lady that I got never asked about the problems I had been having. She went straight to turn off your computers & reboot your modem. That's it that all the "testing" she did. She says my modems working fine. I'm still having the slow speed issue. She says it must be your Router. This is Comcasts standard answer!
They never admit or will test that anything can be wrong with their servers or equipment & just keep charging more & more money. (I don't even have High Definition serve available here!)
She lastly scheduled a man to come out. (You know this will be a dude who knows nothing of computers or servers.) The last thing she said was you will be charged for this guy to come into your house to tell you your router is not working. OMFG This woman! "I told you lady It is not my router!" She never even gave a thought to the fact my TV was losing a signal too.
At the time I was talking to this lasy my test @ speedtest .com was 890kp/s & she said everything was working fine, no packet loss according to my modem. *GRRRRRRRR*

I'm done with my rant until Friday.

Forgetfulness

How often do you go into a room, then forget what you are in the room to get? How many memo's do you write to yourself?
Have you ever forgotten your mother?
Today, for the second time, I forgot my mother. I was supposed to take her to the car dealership after work.
It was a very busy day, my mind was filled, it was Friday (woot). I was excited about getting to the gym to relieve some stress & then start the weekend. I swiped out & went directly to the gym. I got out of the car & almost to the gym door before I went Oh noes!I forgot my MOM. So I go to call her & my cell rings, she had already started walking in the coldness:( SORRY MOM!

The first time I forgot her was one morning, I was supposed to get her from the car dealership & bring her to work. That time I did not even know I'd forgotten her until 10 minutes after work had started. On top of that it was pouring rain. Someone was sent to fetch her but she had already started walking & she got that drowned rat look.

I forget things all the time & it IS getting worse with age.
What's the worse thing you have forgotten?

I love this one!

The Shins - Australia

The Shins - Australia Lyrics

Time to put the earphones on:
No!

Born to multiply, born to gaze into night skies,
All you want's one more Saturday.
But look here, until then
They're gonna buy your nice time
So keep your wick in the air and your feet in the fetters
To the day.
You come in doing cartwheels
We all go out by ourselves
And your shape on the dance floor
Will have me thinking such filth and gauge my eyes.

You'd be damned to be one of us girl
Faced with a dodo's conundrum
Ah, I felt like I could just fly
But nothing'll happen every time I try.

A dual tone under wall
Selfish fool and hoped you'd save us all
Never dreamt of such sterile hands,
You keep them folded in your lap,
And raise them up to beg for scraps,
You know, he's holding you down,
With the tips of his fingers just the same,
You'll be pulled from the ocean,
But just a minute too late,
Or changed by a potion,
We'll find a handsome young mate,
For you to love.

You'll be damned to pining through the windowpanes,
You know you'll change your life for any ordinary Joe,
And though your night will go on,
Your nightmares only need a year or two to unfold.

Been in love since you were twenty-one,
You haven't laughed since January,
You try and make this up this is so much fun,
But we know it to be quite contrary.

Dare to be one of us, girl,
Facing the Andrum's conundrum,
Ah, I feel like I should just cry,
But nothing happens every time I take one on the chin,
You're humoring your cote,
You don't know how long I've been,
Watching the lantern dim,
Starved of oxygen,
So give me your hand,
And let's jump out the window.
