Our Rescue Dog

I'd like to introduce to you all the new edition to our family.
Ta Da! Here's Bella!

Bella is a puppy mill survivor. This means that she has spent her one & a half years in cage. She may have even had a litter of puppies


I had to give her a bath straight off. She had crap caked on her huge paws.

She is all legs this one She is timid. She has played well with Zoie. Although she niped at Zoie for not much while she was trying to sleep. (A bit like me there LOL)
They say she is a Yorkshire Terrier but I think she's mixed with Doberman or Schnauzer.

Bella is skin & bones. I hope to fatten her up. I hope to get her to trust & love.
I found Bella through a search on the internet. There are plenty more where Bella came from. If anyone can open their hearts & home please do.
I was turned down last year & was not expecting to get approved. I was pleasantly surprised!

I do not qualify.

As many of you know I put my application in to adopt a PuppyMill survivor.
I thought Zoie needs a friend. I don't really want to go through puppiness again. OMG I never knew that there were so many dogs in need of love out there. Even Yorkies!
So, in my search of a non-shedding small dog (not really thinking of what a PuppyMill Survivor dog would be (behave) like.) I fell in love with Shadow.
After several e-mails & pictures of my yard & of course the crazy long application. They said that absolutely no PuppyMill dogs go to unfenced yards. These rescue dogs are prone to bolting & are usually uncatchable.
This just means that it was not meant to be at this moment. We do & have needed to finish fencing the yard off. Zoie loves to run. she's not great at always coming when I call her either.
In the interim I'm going to do more research on these rescue dogs. I was in no way prepared for how difficult it might be to acclimate one to real family life.
