I got this camera to help me keep an eye on the dogs. I hope to watch them during the day to see how long Bella is actually able to hold it. Also I want to make sure that they are being nice to each other.
I sat down to install this last night, I kept getting error messages. After a couple hours of error messages I was perturbed. Linksys always includes an install disk with their products & I believe that this is the second time the install software has not worked.
I called Linksys customer service. I talked to a lady name Rachael. I told her the situation & she said that we could set up the camera manually, but then she started to go on about how my router was no longer on free support status & it would cost me $29.99 for a one time service call............I said, "I'm calling about the camera that I just purchased, not the router!" I added, "I could buy a new router for what she was wanting to charge me for a phone call."
It was late & I was not using my nice voice. I was angry! She continued on about charging me & I told her to just FORGET IT. "I'll send the thing back before I pay you for a service call!"
Rachael hung up on me at that point.
I took some deep breaths & went to the on-line support forums, where I got the information I needed to get my camera installed. I had to do it manually becuase their stinkin software does not work.
I have to wonder if this is not done purposely......I wonder how many suckers they change phone service changes to?
