Limited space.

I believe that my laptop has suddenly found it's limit of the amount of data that I can store on it.
I had gotten a new 14GB thumb drive so I could easily take from other person their music.
I love music!
After the music that I took from a friend last night......I only have 14 GB of space left on my hard drive. My want list of music has not gotten any smaller either.
This situation could force my hand into having a server built.

A Surprise Day!

When we got to work this morning the power was out. It was dark & scary in that big place! The big 69, 000 volt transformer blew two fuses at 4:30 am.
We had to stay until they figured out that it would take them five more hours, at least, to fix it.
We got to come home early
Woohoo 2 We went fishing. I caught four keepers & RJ got skunked. The fish were not very cooperative but the weather was awesome.

While we were fishing, the gutter guy showed up. We now have brand new gutters.

After a much deserved nap I managed to get all my chores done. I love surprise days!

I may have posted this one before....

Staind:Schizophrenic Conversations

I heard this song whilst cleaning & first thought the guitar work would make an awesome Rock Band song. The the lyrics struck me as very deepMonster

This Video is cool with Harry Potter.

Are you afraid

Afraid of the truth

In the mirror staring back at you

The image is cracked

But so is the view here

And the strength of a tree

Begins in the roots

That I tend to bury into you

At least now the storm

Can't blow me away

So crawl inside

My head with me

I'll show you how

It feels to be

To blame like me

Should I be afraid

Of this face that I see

In the mirror staring back at me

So cold were the days

When I listened to you

And you say that I'm weak

So show me the proof

Because I still exist inspite of you

But I won't compete

With you every day

So crawl inside

My head with me

I'll show you how

It feels to be

To blame like me

Schizophrenic conversations that I'm always having
with myself

I hear these
Voices in my head competing, maybe I could use a little help

I still have
Schizophrenic conversations when there's no one else around to hear

I long for
Solitude and peace within me, void of all the anger and the fear

So crawl inside

My head with me

And I'll show you how it feels to be

Fucked up like me

I'll show you how it feels to be

To blame like me

Ashamed like me

My Verizon Experience.

I have had to call Verizon several times since I sold my soul to them with a cell phone contract. I'm new to this & my phone is at times complicated.
Every time I have called them they have been very friendly people. They had or found all the answers to my questions & seemed to go the extra mile to make me happy.
I LOVE THAT!

The high cost of living.

Not only have gas prices gone through the roof, so has the price of food. I have noticed that my trips to the grocery store are costing me at least an extra $25.00 a week.
I never thought I'd say this (Or do this). I found some web sites that you can print coupons from. I hate the time it takes to search & print them out.
I saved $5.00 last time & if I put a bit more effort into it I think I could save a ton more.

More Roof

The finish edging looks very nice. It looks perfect from a distance.
On closer inspection there are things that don't make my grade.
See that piece of siding falling off the house? That was knocked off by the boys & needs fixed.
The chimney section looks funky to me. The chalking around the windows & dormers is a bit messy.

But I don't think it is that bad for under half the price the "Professionals" wanted.
I pray that this roof holds up!

New Song

The Kooks - She Moves In Her Own Way

So at my show on Monday
I was told that someday
You'd be on your way to better things
It's not about your make-up
Or how you try to shape up
To these tiresome paper dreams
Paper dreams honey

So now you pour your heart out
You're telling me you're far out
You're all about to lie down for your cause
But you don't pull my strings
Cause I'm a better man
Moving on to better things

But uh oh, I love her because
She moves in her own way
But uh oh, she came to my show
Just to hear about my day

And at the show on Tuesday
She was in her mindset
Tempered firs and spangled boots
Looks are deceiving
Making me believe it
And these tiresome paper dreams
Paper dreams honey, yeah

So won't you go far
Tell me you're a keeper
You're all about to lie down for your cause
But you don't pull my strings because
Cause I'm a better man
Moving on to better things

But uh oh, I love her because
She moves in her own way
But uh oh, she came to my show
Just to hear about my day

Yes our wish's that we never made it
Through all the summers
We kept them up instead of
Kicking us back down to the suburbs
Yes our wish's that we never made it
Through all the summers
We kept them up instead of
Kicking us back down to the suburbs

But uh oh, I love her because
She moves in her own way
But uh oh, she came to my show
Just to hear about my day

But uh oh, I love her because
She moves in her own way
But uh oh, she came to my show

I'm not saving any money in my latest venture. I went from a house phone with Vonage & two pre-paid cell phones at $30.00 dollars a month total phone bill to.........Let us just say a bunch more than that!
The upside to this is that I have a Dell Axim, Two
Virgin cell phones, a Linksys phone router, & two land line phones I can get rid of.

I love the band Boston.

Hearing their music brings back sweet childhood memories.
I was saddened to hear about their lead singer late last year. I figured that they would not go on tour after the loss. I was wrong.
I soooo want to see this band!

Boston tour kicks off June 6th.
It looks like most of the dates are at casinos.

The story behind their new lead singer is very neat.
Amateur singer gets more than a feeling from Boston Print E-mail

Summer job: Tommy DeCarlo is taking time off from Home Depot to tour with Boston.
Summer job: Tommy DeCarlo is taking time off from Home Depot to tour with Boston.

See how this rock 'n' roll fantasy sounds: One day you're trying to get Home Depot shoppers to apply for in-store credit. The next you're rehearsing with Boston and getting ready for a national summer tour.

"I never could have dreamed this," says Tommy DeCarlo, 43, Boston's new Brad Delp-channeling frontman, who is taking leave from his credit manager job at a Charlotte Home Depot to perform with the band. "That first gig is going to be something."

Bands ranging from AC/DC to Lynyrd Skynyrd have found new singers in the wake of tragedy (Delp committed suicide last year), inevitably choosing road-tested replacements. DeCarlo's rocking Cinderella tale includes the fact that he never has even been in a band.

"I did sing After the Lovin' at my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary," says the affable DeCarlo, who is married and has two teenagers. "I think they enjoyed it."

All Boston founder Tom Scholz knows is he can't believe his ears. "During rehearsals, it can get downright eerie," he says. "I forget it's not Brad. It makes me feel like someone was at work up there."

In tribute to Delp, DeCarlo posted MP3 files of himself singing Boston over a karaoke soundtrack on his MySpace page. (He had hocked his prized keyboard in 2006 to buy his kids' Christmas gifts.) An impressed visitor to his page urged him to contact Boston management and offered up an old e-mail address. Doubtful but with nothing to lose, DeCarlo sent off a note with a link. Destiny intervened.

"My wife was at her computer playing our tunes, and I asked her whether it was us playing live," Scholz says. "She said, 'It's some guy in North Carolina singing your songs.' I said, 'I know Brad's voice, and that's Brad.' She turned it up, and only when I heard the backing track did I know it wasn't us."

Scholz flew DeCarlo and his family up for an audition, which led to a Delp tribute show and the tour invite. DeCarlo and the band's other new member, Stryper frontman Michael Sweet, will appear on Boston's next album in early 2009.

Finding a new band member online "could happen more and more, because you no longer have to be anywhere specific to audition," says Howard Kramer, curatorial director of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. "Journey just found their new lead singer (Arnel Pineda) in a Filipino cover band that put their stuff on YouTube."

Even if DeCarlo's Boston idyll proves short-lived, he's unlikely to forget this summer. His colleagues won't let him.

"It's like we've got our own American Idol winner right here in our store," says DeCarlo's manager, Mark Ortiz. "When he plays nearby, we'll all be there, orange aprons on."

The roof leaked last night.

I woke to a smell in the kitchen. I thought maybe Zoie had got sick. I did not see anything so i kept following my nose, which lead me to a huge, stinky, yellow puddle of water on the kitchen counter.
It had only sprinkled during the night. It was a large puddle for only sprinkles.
I called the contractor at 9:00am. At 9:30 or 10:00 it started pouring rain. Robert & I both were freaking out: worried about what kind of a mess we would have.
Robert went home at lunch to find a waterfall.

The contractor had not showed up yet, Well DUH, If he had there would not be a waterfall. The contractor showed up while Robert was home & fixed the leak, FINALLY! I came home & spent hours cleaning trying to get that smell to go away. Things are mostly dry now.
We got lucky as we don't have any dry wall. And also that it sprung the leak in that part of the house. As far as I know nothing but my Tennis Elbow was damaged.
It rained most of the day so no progress on the roof.

Song for Today.

No Doubt-Spiderweb

You think that we connect

That the chemistry's correct

Your words walk right through my ears

Presuming I like what I hear

And now I'm stuck in the web

You're spinning

You've got me for your prey

Sorry I'm not home right now

I'm walking into spiderwebs

So leave a message

And I'll call you back

A likely story, but leave a message

And I'll call you back

You're intruding on what's mine and

You're taking up my time

Don't have the courage inside me

To tell you please let me be

Communication, a telephonic invasion

I'm planning my escape...

CHORUS

And it's all your fault

I screen my phone calls

No matter who calls

I gotta screen my phone calls

Now it's gone too deep

You wake me in my sleep

My dreams become nightmares

'Cause you're ringing in my ears.

CHORUS

ooh spider webs

leave a message and I'll call you back

I'm walkin in a spider webs

so leave a message and I'll call you back

it's all your fault

I screen my phone calls

no matter matter matter who calls

I gotta screen my phone calls

it's all your fault

it's all your fault

no matter who calls

no matter who calls

I'm walkin in a spider webs

so leave a message and I'll call you back

I'm walkin in a spider webs

leave a message and I'll call you back

Today

We went on a day adventure! We went to New Buffalo to the new Four Winds Casino. We really are not gamblers but Robert's Mom & Dad took a bus tour there from Saginaw. So we surprised them & met them there.
We stopped at the beach before we found the Casino. It was freezing cold & the waves were ginormous. You could have surfed them. The waves were battering the pier like crazy sending up spray 6 feet in the air.
Did I have the camera? Yes but I left it in the truck:(
We had fun with Mom & Dad but I was not very lucky. I lost all I played; NO breaking even for me!

They started on our roof today. They started way early for my day off but I'll forgive them if they get this done fast. Zoie was freaked out with all the racket. It sounded like elephants on the roof.

Old great song!

I love Pat Benatar's cover of Hot Child in the City.

Danger in the shape of somethin'
wild

Stranger dressed in black, she's a
hungry child

No one knows who she is or what
her name is

I don't know where she came from
or what her game is

(Hot child in the city)

(Hot child in the city)

(Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty)

(Hot child in the city)

So young to be loose and on her
own

Young boys, they all want to take
her home

She goes downtown, the boys all
stop and stare

When she goes downtown, she walks
like she just don't care, care

(Hot child in the city)

(Hot child in the city)

(Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty)

Yeah

(Hot child in the city)

Come on down to my place, baby

We'll talk about love

Come on down to my place, woman
We'll make love!

Hot child in the city

(Hot child in the city)

She's kinda dangerous

(Hot child in the city)

Young child

(Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty)

Young child, runnin' wild

Have I ever told you....

How much I hate spiders?
I was getting ready for bed when I noticed Zoie scratching & sniffing around behind the toilet. I did not think anything about it. Seconds before sitting down I noticed that Ms. Zoie was sitting almost as a statue, (Almost as if she were a pointer dog.) She was staring at something. So I looked where she was looking & I SCREAMED.
There at the base of the toilet sat a creepy brownish spider. I had to figure out how to kill it, being that my spider killer was already snoring. (Have I said how much I hate spiders?)
As you spider haters know tissue is not acceptable as it does not offer enough distance between spider & killer. I brainstormed for along time until remembered the back scratcher.
When I came back from grabbing the scratcher the spider moved & fast. I did not see which direction so I screamed again, "Where the f*&^ did it go?"
I saw it shivering at the junction of the sink & wall. I took swift action with my bamboo weapon. I squished it.
I feel bad for taking a life but spiders can not live under my toilet!

I found some awesome coffee

When I was in Rhode Island last summer I tried my first Dunkin Donuts (OMG May 15th is free Iced Coffe Day!) Iced coconut coffee with cream. A double brewed coconut high from heaven. Out east they have a Dunkin on every corner.
Here we have one Dunkin & it is a hell of a drive. If I'm ever in that town on other business I make a point to stop & get my "special treat coffee"
I've tried that flavored creamer. I've had coffee houses make me a special order coffee, but they all end up being to sweet.
This all brings me to this......Zoie chewed my favorite flip flops from Hawaii. I went to Hilo Hattie's on-line to & ordered a new pair. The shoes did not even cost as much as the shipping so I looked for something else to buy. I found coconut Kona coffee blend. This stuff rocks! It is as close as I have come to the Dunkin flavor. (it's is not as strong.)
I love things that take me back "Mentally" to a vacation. We all need those feel good moments in our day!

Tongue Out

So I watched a movie.....

Into the Wild

It was based on a true story (love those). It was very long. I loved how it went deep into thought & human interaction & reactions. I keep thinking that he should have been better prepared for the wild.
My favorite quote: : Some people feel like they don't deserve love. They walk away quietly into empty spaces, trying to close the gaps of the past.

I so enjoyed the soundtrack, in looking it up I found that Eddie Vedder wrote & sang most of this. He was the singer for Pearl Jam.
They have a Guitar Hero III song; Even Flow.

I hate DRM music.

DIGITAL RIGHTS MANAGEMENT!

When I purchased my Zune I had no idea that it would not play my over 30 hours of DRM music that I had purchased (Note Purchased!) from other sources. Also anything that I had purchased from Zune I can't play anywhere else. Itunes is the same way.
To get around this a person can burn to a disc then rip the songs back into the computer. Of coarse you also have to manually rename the songs & add the artwork. Which is a project that I started over a week ago. I'm still working on getting all the music that I OWN...PAID for to play wherever I want it to.
I will never buy DRM music ever again. I am all for Artists getting paid for their work. But I can not stand for these greedy money hungry companies that think they can control you; make you buy ONLY from THEM.

Barbra Streisand - Best I Could Lyrics

I can't apologize for the way I feel

Cause I've always been honest with you

I've loved you the best I could

In the only way I knew

And If that's not enough I've got nothin' to say

And I'm not even sure that I would

Somedays it was bad and somedays good

But I've loved you the best I could

I need more... I need someone to hold me tonight

Someone there when I turn out the lights

Just to be here with me

I need more...

I need more than you somehow

I need more than your time will allow

I want you as my friend

Why can't you be that now?

You say you need me, then you'd be gone

The times I needed you

Then you'd hold me and say you're sorry

But what else could you do?

Yet I know you really loved me

So it's hard to let go like I should

Let's forget the bad

Remember the good

Cause you loved me the best you could

But I need more

I need someone to hold me tonight

Someone there when I turn out the light

Remember the times that were good

We both loved the best we could
