So Sweet

Regina Spektor - Better

If I kiss you where it's sore
If I kiss you where it's sore
Will you feel better, better, better
Will you feel anything at all
Will you feel better, better, better
Will you feel anything at all

Born like sisters to this world
In a town where blood ties are only blood
If you never say your name out loud to anyone
They can never ever call you by it

If I kiss you where it's sore
If I kiss you where it's sore
Will you feel better, better, better
Will you feel anything at all
Will you feel better, better, better
Will you feel anything at all

You're getting sadder, getting sadder, getting sadder, getting sadder
And I don't understand, and I don't understand
But if I kiss you where it's sore
If I kiss you where it's sore
Will you feel better, better, better
Will you feel anything at all
Will you feel better, better, better
Will you feel anything at all
Anything at all
Will you feel anything at all
Anything at all
Will you feel anything at all
Anything at all...

Zoie's hair cut was a big adventure for her!

Zoie got to spend a whole night & day with Aunt Donna & Hattie. She went to the doggie spa today. She's so cute.
I think though that she is a bit angry with me, I think she missed me. She has slept since the very moment we got home. I keep thinking she is sick because she is never this calm.

More pics!

On another note.....I keep seeing Ellen talk about & play Guitar Hero on her show. She had a kid on today play through the Fire & Flames on expert. *grrr* I miss playing I'll never get to expert if I keep having to be on the sidelines!
Even though I've not been playing my Tennis Elbow has not improved. I expect to get a shot next time I go in to the doctor.

Gravity

I love this!
JOHN MAYER

Gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down

Oh I'll never know what makes this man
With all the love that his heart can stand
Dream of ways to throw it all away

Oh Gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down

Oh twice as much aint twice as good
And can't sustain like a one half could
It's wanting more
That's gonna send me to my knees
[repeat]

Oh gravity, stay the hell away from me
And gravity has taken better men than me (Now how can that be?)

Just keep me where the light is
Just keep me where the light is
Keep you all where the light is
Just keep us where the light is
Ohh.. where the light is!

Music Player's (Rant)

There are several different Mp3 players. The top competitors are IPOD & Zune. Zune/Microsoft (Evil money grubbing empire!) Zune is what I have. One of the reasons I got Zune & not Ipod was becuase Itunes made me mad when I would download song & not be able to play them with anything other than the Itunes, Media player won't play Itunes.

So I keep a list of songs that I hear that I like & will download when I get a pile. Zune has a nice selection of songs but they did not have some of the really good ones that I wanted. I love love Yahoo music (which used to be Musicmatch.). I split it up I got what I could with my funny little points you get from Microsoft (which btw you can use to buy games for XBOX also).
I'm all for one stop shopping! But If you don't have what I want I'm going elsewhere.

The songs I bought from Yahoo....Well Guess what? They would not play in my Zune! *GRRRRR* It took me literally hours (maybe if I paid for the full version of Media Monkey it would not have taken me so long to fix) to burn the songs onto a CD. Then rip the songs off the CD back into my music library. Now the songs are missing the pretty pictures & title song information.

It is so frustrating. (Same thing with the HDDVD vs. Blu-ray).

HD DVD and Blu-ray battle for dominance

By Beth Boehne

There is a high definition battle between DVD and Blu-ray. Whoever wins will be the industry standard.

Many people are waiting to buy a high-def movie player until the score is settled.

The battle for the next generation of home movie viewing may have passed its tipping point — with Blu-ray taking a sudden, huge lead over rival HD DVD.

Warner Brothers Entertainment announced January 4 it would stop producing high definition films on HD DVD and release them exclusively on Blu-ray.

Market analysts at the NPD group say in the ensuing week, stand-alone Blu-ray players outsold similar HD DVD players 9-1 in the United States.

In 2007, each format owned about half the market.

They need to make everything compatible. There needs to be a revolution, A new world order. What ever happened to the customer needs to be happy?

NOPE All about green stuff, Money.

Woking for a living

My first full week of being pimped out to another department. Wouldn't you know it? My own department got super busy. Now I have days where I want to rip my hair out:)
I love being busy. The days fly. I have no idle time at all.
I can see a potential for clash though between the two Departments. I will always take my departments work first, so the department I've been pimped off to (LOL) could fall behind.
At the end of this week I felt that is exactly what happened. I never seemed to get through the whole pile of their stuff, it just keeps piling up.
We will see, more time is needed:)

Funnies

'MARIJUANA FILLED FIREWOOD'

'Hello, is this the Sheriff's Office?'

'Yes. What can I do for you?'

'I'm calling to report 'bout my neighbor Virgil Smith...He's hidin'

marijuana inside his firewood! Don't quite know how he gets it inside

them logs, but he's hidin' it there..'

'Thank you very much for the call, sir.'

The next day, twelve Sheriff's Deputies descend on Virgil's house. They
search the shed where the firewood is
kept.

Using axes, they bust open every piece of wood, but find no marijuana.
They sneer at Virgil and leave.

Shortly, the phone rings at Virgil's house.

'Hey, Virgil! This here's Floyd....Did the Sheriff come?'

'Yeah!'

'Did they chop your firewood?'

'Yep!'

'Happy Birthday, buddy!'

(Rednecks know how to git-R-dun).

A Bottle of Merlot

A man asked a waiter to take a bottle of Merlot to an unusually
attractive woman sitting alone at a table in a cozy little restaurant.

So the waiter took the Merlot to the woman and said, "This is from the
gentleman who is seated over there." and indicated the sender with a nod
of his head.

She stared at the wine coolly for a few seconds, not looking at the man,
then decided to send a reply to him by a note.

The waiter, who was lingering nearby for a response, took the note from
her and conveyed it to the gentleman.

The note read:

"For me to accept this bottle, you need to have a Mercedes in your
garage, a million dollars in the bank and 7 inches in your pants".

After reading the note, the man decided to compose one of his own in
return. He folded the note, handed it to the waiter and instructed him
to deliver it to the lady.

It read:

"Just to let you know things aren't always what they appear to be, I
have a Ferrari Maranello, BMW Z8, Mercedes CL600, and a Porsche Turbo in
my several garages; I have beautiful homes in Aspen , Miami , and
a 10,000 acre ranch in Louisiana . There is over twenty million dollars
in my bank account and portfolio. But, not even for a woman as
beautiful as you are, would I cut off three inches. Just send the
bottle back."

OH this song is good!

Chris Daughtry - Over You lyrics..Check the Youtube vid!

Now that it’s all said and done
I can’t believe you were the one
To build me up and tear me down
Like an old abandoned house
What you said when you left
Just left me cold and out of breath
I fell too far, was in way too deep
Guess I let you get the best of meeee

(Chorus)
Well I never saw it coming
I should have started running
A long, time agooo!

And I never thought I’d doubt you
I’m better off without you
More than you, more than you know
I’m slowly getting closure
I guess it’s really over
I’m finally gettin’ better
Now I’m picking up the pieces
From spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together
‘Cause the day I thought I’d never get through
I got over you!!!

You took a hammer to these walls
Dragged the memories down the hall
Packed your bags and walked away
There was nothing I could say,
And when you slammed the front door shut
A lot of other’s opened up
So did my eyes so I could see
That you never were the best for meee

I'm working a full week now!

I get to help out another department. Which will help to fill my day out more. It is going to be nice, it is work I can accommodate into my job easily.
I miss my nap, but the money will be welcome. RJ can quit yellin at me now:)

I hear this song today & loved it!

Goo Goo Dolls - Before it's too late

I wandered through fiction
To look for the truth
Buried beneath all the lies
And I stood at a distance
To feel who you are
Hiding myself in your eyes

Hold on, before it's too late
We'll run till we leave this behind
Don't fall, just be who you are
It's all that we need in our lives

And the risk that might break you
Is the one that would save
A life you don't live is still lost
So stand on the edge with me
Hold back your fear and see
Nothing is real till it's gone

Hold on, before it's too late
We'll run till we leave this behind
Don't fall, just be who you are
It's all that we need in our lives

So live like you mean it
And love till you feel it
It's all that we need in our lives
So stand on the edge with me
Hold back your fear and see
Nothing is real till it's gone

Another book absorbed into my brain.

New song...You Wanted More.

Sad & emo but catchy

Artist: Tonic
Song: You Wanted More

Love is tragic
Love is bold
You will always do what you are told

Love is hard
Love is strong
You will never say that you were wrong

I dont know when I got bitter
Love is sure better when it's gone
Because you wanted more
More than I could give
More than I could handle
And a life that I can't live

You wanted more
More than I could bare
More than I could offer
And a love that isn't there

Love is color
Love is love
Love is never saying you're too proud

Love is trusting
Love is honest
Love is not a hand that holds you down

I dont know when I got bitter
Love is surely better when it's gone
Because you wanted more
More than I could handle
And a life that I can't live

You wanted more
More than I could bare
More than I could offer
And a love that isn't there

I gotta pick me up when I am down
I gotta get my feet back on the ground
I gotta pick me up when I am down

Some more Koontz quotes:
"Forever means all the days there are ever going to be, & then that many more"
"Forever means no start & no finish. Forever means every good thing can happen to you, every good thing you can think of, because there's time for it all"
"Alone is very hard. Alone is mostly what she ever remembers. She did not know how bad alone was until Bear. She had Bear, & then she didn't, & after there was no more Bear, she knew for the first time how hard alone was."

More Movie

This was a well done movie. Going into the depths of family issues, & what sexual molestation can do to a person.

Best quotes:
Rachel: This has nothing to do with him.
Simon: This has everything to do with him. He tried to take away all the things that would let you love me without being in my bed, like a friend or a father. This has everything to do with him. This is about knowing the difference between right and wrong, between the truth and a lie. He took that from you. And if you can't tell the difference, then you can't trust anyone. And if you can't trust, you can't love.

Movie night

I was not really into the love story thing, but this was cute.

It might be a fun experiment. House exchange I mean.

Favorite quotes:
Iris: I understand feeling as small and as insignificant as humanly possible. And how it can actually ache in places you didn't know you had inside you. And it doesn't matter how many new haircuts you get, or gyms you join, or how many glasses of chardonnay you drink with your girlfriends... you still go to bed every night going over every detail and wonder what you did wrong or how you could have misunderstood. And how in the hell for that brief moment you could think that you were that happy. And sometimes you can even convince yourself that he'll see the light and show up at your door. And after all that, however long all that may be, you'll go somewhere new. And you'll meet people who make you feel worthwhile again. And little pieces of your soul will finally come back. And all that fuzzy stuff, those years of your life that you wasted, that will eventually begin to fade.

Iris: Because you're hoping you're wrong. And every time she does something that tells you she's no good, you ignore it. And every time she comes through and suprises you, she wins you over, and you lose that argument with yourself, that she's not for you.

Snow Skiing!

I have not been skiing since before Robert & I got married. I have my own skis & I hang onto them because I hope to get a chance to go again.
I've been keeping an eye out for a friend that skis. I have never found any, so I have been planning for the last couple of weeks to spend My ( I hope last Friday off) going to Swiss Valley with Myself.
Last night Robert made some comment about I can't ski until I start working a 40 hour week! WTF was that supposed to mean? *shakes head* MEN /GRRRRRRRR!
Needless to say instead of looking forward to going skiing I just ended up mad. He better of been joking! Was not funny anyway!

There is no good or new snow anyhow. Also one of my friends as it turns out does ski. So maybe well get a good dump of new snow & she & I will go up to BitterSweet! That is a fun Ski resort!

INDIANA COWS:

The only cow in a small town in Arkansas stopped giving milk.
The people did some research and found they could buy a cow up in Indiana, for $200.00.

They bought the cow from Indiana and the cow was wonderful.

The cow produced lots of milk, and the people were very happy.

They decided to acquire a bull to mate with the cow and produce more cows so they would never have to worry about their milk supply again.

They bought a bull and put it in the pasture with their beloved cow.
However whenever the bull came close to the cow, the cow would move away.

No matter what approach the bull tried, the cow would move away from the bull and he could not succeed in his quest.
The people were very upset and decided to ask the Vet, who was very wise, what to do.
They told the Vet what was happening.
"Whenever the bull approaches our cow, she moves away.
If he approaches from the back, she moves forward.
When he approaches her from the front, she backs off.
An approach from the side and she walks away to the other side."
The Vet thinks about this for a minute and asked,
"Did you buy this cow in Indiana?"
The people were dumbfounded, since they had never mentioned where they bought the cow.
"You are truly a wise Vet," they said.
"How did you know we got the cow in Indiana?"
The Vet replied with a distant look in his eye, "My wife is from Indiana."

More quotes from the book I'm reading:
Amy is talking about dogs....."You see a remarkable complexity in each dog's personality, an individualism uncannily human in it's refinement, Though with none of the worst human faults. You see an intelligence & a fundamental ability to reason that sometimes can take your breath away."

"The opportunity to love a dog & treat it with kindness was an opportunity for a lost human heart to be redeemed."
"The Geometry of Judgment is a circle. Hate is a snake that turns to consume itself from the tail, a circle that diminishes to a point, then to nothing. Pride is such a snake, & Envy, & greed. Love, however, is a hoop, a wheel, that rolls on forever. We are rescued by those whom we have rescued."

New book new quotes:)

I've just started Dean Koontz, The Darkest Evening of the year. I love how much wit & banter he allows his characters. His books are always a joy too read.

I've got some quotes to share.
"I have such an enlarged guilt gland that it weighs as much as my brain." (I resemble this remark!)

About Moongirl:
"In daylight or Dark, she can pass for sane. She can even feign wholesomeness quite convincingly. Her beauty beguiles."

"She has total discipline of her body & her intellect." She has no discipline of her emotions. she is, therefore, out of balance, & balance is a requirement for sanity."

"When he sees her in the soft light, he wants her agian, but she is never his for the taking. His satisfaction always depends on her need, & at the moment the only thing she needs is to burn."

Another Harry Potter book done!

Book 5:
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix:

This was the first the first Potter book I read that I have not seen the movie first. Any book is best read before a movie.
I rate this book better than the previous ones. It really kept my attention. The story fills in quit nicely at the end of this one. That being said it also leaves you a bit sad.
Neville even gets a bigger part, which is cool.

Some favorite quotes from the ending.

When Dumbeldore is talking to Harry about the treatment of house elves, Kreatcher in particular. He explains how, "Indifference & neglect often do more damage than outright dislike"

Harry has a moment where he can't decide weather he wants to be with people or not. Whenever he was with people he wants nothing but to get away from them. When he's alone he wants company. How many of you have felt that way most days? :)

Now the funny one! They are in the train on the way home & everyone is occupied with something.
"Neville was stroking his Mimbulus mimbletonia, which had grown a great deal over the year& now made odd crooning noises when touched."

Tonight's movie was the best ever!

Reign Over Me:

Adam Sandler pulled this serious roll off perfectly. It is a must see! The whole cast made this movie work.
This movie will make you cry. It will make you think. How far would you go for a friend in need? How far out of your way? How much could you put up with & for how long?
It makes you think about other people & that everyone has a story. Some of those stories are too painful to bear.
The best movie with a 9/11 theme that I've seen. It truly speaks straight from the hearts of those left behind.

As you all know my dogs have had names such as Elmo, & now Zoie. This summer I saw a bit of Sesame street I think it was in channel surfing or whatever. I saw Zoe's friend, a little green monster. I could never find out what here name was.
Today I figured it out. (Sesame Street live is in town:)) Her name is Rosita!

First HD movie

King Kong the 2005 remake. I have seen this movie before & I had forgotten how looong it was. I love Kong as a kid & I still do. Yes It still makes me cry!

Best Quote Was when Mr Denham was first getting Ms. Darrow to join him. They were in the restaurant.
.
Carl Denham: Ann, I'm telling you - you're perfect. Look at you. You're the saddest girl I've ever met. You're gonna make them weep, Ann. You're gonna break their hearts.
Ann Darrow: See, that's where you're wrong, Mr. Denham. I make people laugh, that's what I do. Good luck with your picture.

(He goes on into the love story a bit)

Ann Darrow: Good things never last Mr. Denham.

I noticed more things in the HD movie like little flying bugs & plants. More back ground stuff. I'm not sure if that was because I was looking for the "better quality of HD" Or that was the HD LOL!

Great White stalks ocean canoeist

Last updated at 00:19am on 3rd January 2008

Alone in his tiny plastic sea kayak, marine biologist Trey Snow had hoped to stealthily track a great white shark. But he had the shock of his life when he spotted a giant fin and realised it was he who was being stalked - by surely one of the most feared killers in the world.

The magnificent creature initially dived to the seabed, inspecting the kayak from below, before rising menacingly to the surface. Luckily for Trey, the 13ft-long shark was more inquisitive than hungry.

Trey was just one of a team of scientists hoping to discover why a large group of great whites, which travel off southern Africa's tip during the summer, regularly swim so close to the beaches.

They decided to venture into the deep blue in the quietest and most unobtrusive vessel they could think of - a bright yellow sea kayak. Amazingly the sharks carried on as normal, giving the scientists a unique insight into their lives.

They observed that the intrepid animals come inshore to interact socially with others of their species - possibly using the opportunity to mate and give birth - and can often be spotted following, or swimming circles around, one another, for extended periods of time.

This incredible picture was taken by wildlife photographer Thomas Peschak - who had to tie himself to the high bridge of a nearby vessel and lean precariously over the ocean before he could get his shot.

The holy grail of shark research and marine wildlife photography is to see great whites mating and giving birth. It is a task which is extremely difficult and dangerous, if not impossible, and even Thomas Peschak has not achieved it yet. And Trey Snow might be thinking he has already got as close to a great white as he wants to ...
