You Know Those E-mails?
I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant.
I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon, before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.
Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM and sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60's &70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love .... I will.
I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set. They, too, will get old.
I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things.
Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.
I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.
As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong.
So, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day (if I feel like it).
MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP NEVER COME APART, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART!

Memorial Day
I'd like to take this moment to thank all the veterans for the sacrifice that they have made, many made the ultimate sacrifice. So that I can live free in this country. Where my biggest dilemma is what game I'm gonna play tonight. Or which new gadget I want to buy.
Our veterans need more than what we give them!
Also happy Summer!

Remember When We Brought Bella Home?

Bella has come such a long way!
When we brought her home in November she was 5 pounds. She weighs 11 pounds now. I call her my Chunky Monkey! She is such a cuddle bucket, but only with me....she is still scared of the rest of the world.
It makes me feel very needed & special that she loves me that much. *shrug*
I wrote a Bella poem.Bella from a puppy-mill came she.
Broken like me.
We cling together, a bond like no other.
Neurotic she is, but does not smother.
Slowly we heal.

A Day in Chicago

Going to Chicago was a big thing for us seeing as we are homebodies.
Hubby's parents came down for a visit & we decided to make a trial run to Chicago.
We took the first train out of South Bend (Way too early to get out of bed).
Once we got off the train. We headed for Navy pier. It turned out to be a sunny beautiful day. It was a tad chilly & well Windy, imagine that

We rode the Ferris wheel.
We went to see The new Star Trek on Imax.
OMG! That rocked & the movie was the best that I have seen in a long while.I did have a hard time getting over Zachary Quinto playing Spock. I kept picturing Sylar from Heroes.
The movie kept me totally entertained & engaged the entire time!!!! LOVED IT!
This movie could open up a whole new story line.
We were walking back to catch the 6:00 train out of the city & I took a short cut totally missing our entrance to the station, getting us totally lost. After we got straitened out we barely made the train.
I love just looking at the buildings, We are definitely going to go back more often....So many more things to do & see.
More pictures.

Love Save the Empty by Erin Mccarley
Mama didn't teach me.
Little boys don't know how to treat little girls.
Daddy didn't show me.
Face down, on top of your bed.
Oh why did I give it up to you?
Is this how I shoot myself up high,
Just high enough to get through?
Again, the false affection.
Again, we break down inside.
Love save the empty.
Love save the empty, and save me.
Sad boy, you stare up at the sky
When no one's looking back at you.
You wear your every last disguise;
You're flying, then you fall through.
Again, the false attention.
Again, you're breaking inside.
Love save the empty.
Love save the empty, save me.
Love save the empty.
Love save the empty.
Stars feel like knives,
They tell us why we're fighting.
Storm, wait outside.
Oh, love, hold us together.
Love, save the empty.
Love, save the empty.
Love, save the empty.
Love, save the empty, and save me.
And save me.

Emeril Trout Recipes
- Prep
- 5 min
- Inactive Prep
- --
- Cook
- 20 min
- Total:
- 25 min
- Ingredients
- 4 (6-ounce) trout fillets
- 1 teaspoon salt, plus more for seasoning
- 1 teaspoon Essence, recipe follows
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 stick, cubed, softened unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon minced shallots
- 2 tablespoons white wine
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
- Freshly ground pepper
Directions
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F.
Season the trout fillets with the salt and Essence. Lightly dredge the seasoned trout in the flour, shaking off any excess. Set a 10-inch saute pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil to the pan. Once the oil is hot, place the fish fillets in the pan, 2 at a time and cook for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes per side. Place the cooked fillets on an oven-proof platter and place in the oven while you cook the remaining fillets.
Once the fish are cooked, return the skillet to the stovetop and set on medium heat. Add the butter to the pan and once melted, add the shallots. As the shallots cook, and the butter stops foaming, about 30 seconds, add the white wine, lemon juice and parsley to the pan. Continue to cook for 15 to 20 seconds, swirling the pan occasionally. Season with salt and pepper and remove from the heat. Remove the fish from the oven and pour the sauce over top the fish. Serve immediately.
I also found this one Prosciutto Wrapped Trout. Damn this one is making my mouth water.
This one looks good also Mushroom and Artichoke Stuffed Trout.

Bad Week
My garage door opener seems to be stuck in the pushed position. It so freaked me out to have the light on in the garage & the door opened by itself. (I thought of Ghosts first.)
One headlight is out in my sweet ride LOL My Geo Tracker:)
My XBOX got the dreaded Red Ring Of Death & is on it's way to repair.....Thank God for the 3 year extended warranty just for this issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW that is customer service & Verizon should take notes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My cell is still dropping calls & getting limited or no service. I have called uncounted times, placed no less than four help tickets.
They are trying to tell me that my hubby's cell an LG drops few calls & My Motorola drops tons that it is the type of phone I have. This is my second Motorola having the same issues.
I would agree with them if the rest of our neighborhood was not experiencing the same issues of dropped calls.
I had no problems for nine months, never had a dropped call. For the last two months forget it.
Every help ticket they say they fixed it & I & my neighbors are still with crappy phone service!!!!
Verizon False advertises about having this awesome network behind you. They need to put up a new tower or something.......If I was a betting woman *Heh* I'd guess something broke & they are trying to keep from spending the money to fix it.
I'm so frustrated........It makes me wonder who's cell tower is right across the street?

The Red Ring of Death-XBOX360
I've heard the horror stories about The Red Ring of Deathbut I never thought it would happen to me.
My XBOX being down makes me very sad! I don't think I can be with out it for long.
I will have to spend hours with tech support.
(Which I have also been spending with Verizon's tech support)
Things are breaking around here faster than I have time to get them fixed.

Excitment From the Drive Home

We came up behind a white
Lamborghini.
This car was only doing fifty miles an hour. We went by him & I was really eying that car! About five minutes later we hear this engine revving noise. Here came that sweet ass car....racing a motorcycle. The bike went by us on the right, the Lamborghini went by us on the left.He then slowed down again for a few miles. When he kicked it in gear the second time he was gone fast. *sigh* I never saw him again.

We went to Traverse City
We went to visit my Dad & Deb in Traverse City. We had a great time.
That area of Michigan is amazingly beautiful. The bay was the color of Caribbean ocean most of the time.
We did a trip to the Mission Point Lighthouse. We went back to the trout farm in East Jordan. (It was closed last time we were there:() This was Deb's first time fishing. She did awesome. Yes I caught the biggest fish. My trout was 7 pounds.
We topped it all off with a wine tasting tour. That wine goes to your head pretty damn fast I gotta say. The best place that gave you lots of free tasting was Leelanau Cellars. At one of the newer vineyards Silver Leaf, they feature local artists. I fell in love with Sharon Rusch Shavers paintings. Someday maybe I could afford one.
I have to mention the excellent eats A place called Boon's. Oh & Happy Hour something LOL!
Here's some pictures.....
& some Video
I want to thank my GF for baby & house sitting! You did awesome!
